Thy Kingdom Come

Join us as we join in the 9 days of global wave of prayer “Thy Kingdom Come”from Thursday 30th May -Sunday  8th June.: Praying for our community and the world wide Anglican Church.

The Church will be open between 11am and 1pm on the days listed below. We’d love to share this time with you.

Easter at St Hugh’s

Join us as Journey with Jesus through Holy Week

Palm Sunday : 10am All age worship with the blessing of palms

2pm: Come and Sing:Stainer’s Crucifixtion

2pm Rehearsal, 6pm Rehearsal: Music available

Maundy Thursday: 7pm Holy Communion and The Stripping of the     Alter.

Good Friday: 9:30 -12:15    ” The Easter Trail”
Ages 5-11 years

Join us as we tell the Easter story through Fun, Craft, Songs Games and a treasure hunt.

                       2pm: Hour of devotion at the cross.

Easter Day: 8am: Holy Communion and lighting of the Easter Candle

                     10am: Parisn communion with Baptisms

A fun evening for those aged 5-11 years to celebrate Candlemas

 

Midnight Holy Communion

24th December 2018 at 11:30pm

All are welcome to join us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus  with a service of Carols and Holy Communion on this holy night

Christingle Service

24th December 2018 at 6pm

Come along and join us for our Christingle Service: Christmas music , carols and Christingles as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Carol Service

16th December 2018 at 6pm

All are welcome to join is in a service of lessons and Carols

Congregational Carols along with St Hugh’s Church Choir, St Hugh’s Music Group and Soloist Holly Hewitt followed with Mulled wine and Mince pies.

Crib Service 

Sunday 9th December 2018 at 10am

All are welcome to join us for a Family Service as we build our crib.

Children are invited to come dressed as a character from the Nativity as we buid our own ” living crib scene”

Children who have been baptised over the past 2 years will be able to receive their baptism hearts from the Christmas Tree.

 

Service of Remembrance

 11th November 2018 at 10 am 

Join us for our Service of Remembrance as we remember and give thanks for those who gave their lives in war, remember those who suffered and still suffer because of conflict and pray for peace throughout the world.

All Souls Service of remembrance and Thanksgiving

Sunday 4th November 2018 at 10am.

Join us as we come together for a quite, reflective service of Remembrance and thanksgiving as we remember those who have died and those who remain forever deep within our hearts.

There will be an opportunity to light candles in memory of our loved ones.

Pumpkin Heroes Light Party

Children’s Good Friday Activity Morning

“An Easter Adventure”

Good Friday Activity Fun Morning at St Hugh’s Church Old Brumby Scunthorpe.

Join us for a fun filled morning of activities, crafts, drama, music and an Easter egg hunt as we discover the Easter Story.

Holy Week Services

Join us as we journey with Jesus through Holy Week and the crucifixion ending with the celebration of our resurrected Christ on Easter Sunday.

Palm Sunday: 10am Parish Communion and distribution of Palm Crosses

Mothering Sunday 11th March

 

All age worship for Mothering Sunday 10am.

Join us as we give thanks for all mothers.

Everyone will receive a small gift of a flower to give to their Mum, Grandma, Wife or  friend.

Dear Jesus we thank you for Mothers everywhere. For all who care for us day by day. Let us not forget that you were a child and your mother was Mary. We say thank you for Mums across the world and in our country too. So let us give grateful thanks and let our voices be heard for all the Mums and Grandmas on this very special day. Amen

Performance    6.00pm in church

Come and join us to sing or listen to this beautiful Oratorio as we prepare for our journey into Holy Week  through to Easter.
